To keep abreast on the current roll-out of the education reform initiative – the K-12 Basic Education Program, the Inter-Agency Committee on Philippine Schools Overseas conducted the 12th Conference of Philippine Schools Overseas at the Plaza del Norte Hotel and Convention Center in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on May 06-08, 2014. It was attended by sixty-one representatives from 27 Philippine schools in Bahrain, China, East-Timor, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates.

They practiced for months, under the watchful eye of their mentors and coaches, trying to perfect the Filipino recipes they hoped would be deemed winners by the judges.

Team PH-Dubai kids win cookfest

 
THE PSO Dubai team won the top prize at the culinary competition.

On May 1, Labor Day, 30 pre-teen and teen-aged students from Philippine Schools Overseas (PSO)  in  Bahrain, Oman, Doha, Dubai, and Shanghai  converged in the kitchens of Enderun Colleges in McKinley Hill, Taguig to face-off and demonstrate culinary skills inspired by their Filipino heritage.
