HISTORY
The Far Eastern Private School (FEPS) initially began its operations in August 2000 as “Love and Care” with a total of 170 students from kindergarten to high school. However, the school closed its operations in February 2001 and transferred its students to other schools. With the dynamic management and concerted efforts of Mr. Ahmed Al Ansari and his loving better half, Mrs. Maria Teresa Sales Al Ansari, it re-opened as the new “The Far Eastern Private School” in September 2001. The school was formally inaugurated by His Excellency Amable Aguiluz III, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Saqer bin Hamad Al Qassimi, the School Board, faculty and the students and the parents. The school is approved by the Ministry of Education and Youth in UAE and follows the American curriculum and is compatible with the Filipino curriculum.
In order to cater to the needs of Filipino students in the UAE and provide affordable quality education, the FEPS has adopted the Philippine curriculum. The FEPS was granted Host Country Permit no. 509047 on 25 June 2011 by the Ministry of Education and Youth in UAE. Thereafter, the FEPS was given Government Permit No. 001 by the Department of Education (DepEd) on 09 February 2004. The school was officially recognized by the DepEd on 21 September 2010 with Government Recognition No. 003, s. 2010. The FEPS offers the following levels of education: Pre-Elementary, Elementary, and Secondary Education. The school follows the DepEd’s K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum.
The FEPS is likewise recognized by Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), United Arab Emirates with Permit No. 724. As per SPEA rules, classes at FEPS from KG to Grade 4 are co-educational. On the other hand, male and female learners in Grade 5 to Grade 10 are grouped separately.
The FEPS – Al Shahba Campus is one of the pioneering Philippine schools in the region. The FEPS has through the years proven its meaningful existence as a haven of academic excellence as indicated by a steady growth of the school population every year. The management and administration continues to address the needs of times, thus, the FEPS continues to uphold its name in the UAE.
