HISTORY

The International Migrants School started out as a training center for professional formation in 2007 taking the name of Association of Educational Development and Professional Accreditation (EDPAA). In 2012, EDPAA switched to language training, renaming it as MRN Language Training Center. In 2016, it changed its name to M&L International Training Center.

In 2017, M&L was again changed to Filipino Migrants School whose goal became to serve the Filipino Migrants and other migrants from other countries and was subsequently renamed Filipino Migrants School, until it took on its present name today, INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS SCHOOL.

This school, which has been in operation since 2017, caters not just to Filipino migrants but also to other migrants in other countries and mainly due to the efforts of Ms. Milagros R. Nabur and the kind-hearted help and generosity of the couple, Michael John Mann Ms. Lourdes Pasamonte, who took on the task of funding the operations of the school.

The International Migrants School serves the migrants, most specially the young students who are newly arrived in Italy and are seeking to continue their studies until they reach their higher level of education. It envisions itself to be the leading institution for the young migrants and help them become successful global citizens. The school also aims to build a high quality of educational formation to young migrant students who dream to widen their knowledge and reach their objectives in life.

Consistent with the aim of the school to provide a challenging and innovative international program within a nurturing environment, motivating and inspiring every student to achieve academic and personal excellence, it has accepted ten (10) volunteer teachers teaching a population of fifty six (56) students with grade levels ranging from Kindergarten to Senior High School, 98% of whom are children of Filipino migrants, while the others are children of migrants from other countries.

The school is presently housed in the ground floor of the Church called San Damaso Parish at Via Monte Verde, 10. The school does not have any lease contract with the church and anytime, it can be evicted from the church. The school officials are hard pressed to find a permanent structure for the school. The sponsors, Mr. Mann, and Ms. Pasamonte, together with Ms Nabur, are scouting for a building that will serve as permanent location and structure of the school.

The school offers the Philippine K to 12 Program with additional subjects in Italian grammar and literature as prescribed and required by the Italian Ministry of Education.
