HISTORY

The United International Private School (UIPS) is a pioneer Philippine School in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was founded on 01 September 1992, by Col. Mohammad Al Hersh and Dr. Mohammed Al Neyadi. Both founders shared a great vision of providing quality education for the burgeoning Filipino community in Dubai, and the neighboring emirate, Sharjah. It started registering school children from Kindergarten 1 up to Grade 10 with its first location in a villa at Garhoud, Deira. The UIPS was issued a host country permit on 05 October 1992.

On its seventh year, UIPS filed an application for permit to operate a Philippine school overseas – a first step to full Philippine government recognition. The Government Permit No. 001 S. 1999 was granted on February 22, 1999 making the UIPS as the First Philippine school in Dubai, UAE.

After UIPS received its Philippine Government Permit to Operate, the number of its enrolees increased even more, which necessitated the building of new structures to make the school a child friendly environment with secured facilities and better services. The new school buildings are located at Al Quasis Muhaisnah 4, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The UIPS was granted with the Government Recognition (No SP-004 series of 2010) by the Department of Education, Republic of the Philippines. Moreover, with the increasing number of population, an additional school building with complete facilities was built.

In 2012, as per Mandate of the Department of Education (DepEd) Philippines the school started implementing the Universal Kindergarten to strengthen the Early Childhood Education in pursuant to the implementation of Philippine government’s K to 12 programs. The school currently implements Grade 11 level that offers Academic and STEM Strands.
In 2015, the UIPS was rated GOOD with Outstanding Features by the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau (DSIB), an agency within the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), created to standardize and monitor the quality of education in both public and private schools throughout Dubai.

From a handful of grade school pupils, the school now has 2.275 students in the pre-elementary, elementary, and high school levels. It has been consistently granted the authority to operate under Philippine and United Arab Emirates laws for more than twenty-seven (27) years now, proof of its commitment to quality education.
