HISTORY
Established in 2017, the Al Alfiah Filipino Private School (AFPS) is the youngest Philippine-based educational institution in the United Arab Emirates. The founders, being former members of other Filipino schools in the UAE as either parents and/or teachers, saw the need to restart Filipino education in the country and level it up to international standards. This desire led AFPS towards branding itself as a Filipino educational institution that offers affordable high-tech, quality education.
Strategically located at the heart of Sharjah’s school zone in Al Azra, AFPS is home to a growing number of Filipino youths in from Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Its emergence is attributed to its holistic, approach, fostering growth and participation among its active members – the students, the parents and the educators.
With inclination towards science and technology education, AFPS has become a staple name in various curricular competition (e.g., Think Science Fair, Environment Excellence School Award, Sharjah University’s Entreprennovation Competition, etc.). The school’s hands-on approach in science and technology innovation and invention propelled the students in achieving great feat in these competitions garnering podium finish and other similar recognitions. A testament to the school’s commitment: affordable high-tech, quality education.
