Background
The Al Jazeera International School Dammam, formerly the Philippine School in Dammam (PSD) is a non-stock educational corporation established in 1995 with host government permit 268/S issued on 19 June 1999. The school was created to cater the educational needs of the children of Filipino expatriates in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It offered complete Philippine educational curriculum from nursery to high school.
The renaming of the PSD to Al Jazeera International School Dammam, was an initiative of the school owner, Princess Jawaher, who coordinated the renaming with the Saudi Ministry of Education in 2005.
