Background
The International Philippine School in Riyadh (IPSR), established on 10 August 1985, was originally the Philippine Embassy School in Riyadh (PESR). The school was founded to accommodate the children of the Philippine Embassy officials and staff. Later on, the PESR started to accept the children of the overseas Filipino workers in Riyadh.
The IPSR is a Filipino community school, which is self-liquidating and a non-profit institution. It is recognized by the Philippine Department of Education, under Government Permit No. 002 s. 1986; Batas 2706 on 18 November 1986. The Ministry of Education-Directorate of Foreign Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, granted it a license under Note Number 2/1828 dated 18/8/1416 A.H. (29 January 1996 A.D.) and number 2101/419 A.H.

The IPSR believes that the ultimate goal of education is toward self-realization of the optimum development of a student’s potential especially in the pursuit of academic excellence. Thus, the IPSR aims to produce intellectually competent, values – oriented, globally competitive, future effective leaders and productive members of the land.
