Background
The Millennium International School (MIS) was founded in 2001 and is one of the educational institutions offering basic education to children of overseas Filipino workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). It was founded by Mr. Marwan Kwaider, who had the noble mission of providing quality education for the Filipino children in the KSA.
Pursuant to this mission, the MIS has placed the strengthening of the curricular offering on top of its agenda to respond to the challenges of the times and to produce quality students who shall be at par with or even better than the other students in the region or even those in the Philippines.
Today, the MIS has established linkages and tie-ups with other well-known schools in the Philippines to serve its students better.
For the past seven years, the MIS has been as a center of excellence in the education of Filipino children in the KSA. It is dedicated to the formation of the youth for responsible leadership. The MIS believes that education must develop the whole person. Under this concept, education is not limited to the development of the intellect only. It should also include personality development, discipline, the acquisition of knowledge and the development of skills, habits, life-skills, attitudes and values which are required for a successful future. This basic “total person” concept is completely captured in the MIS vision-mission statement.
VISION
The MIS envisions a community of responsible learners who are committed to academic excellence and dedicated to service through the provision of advanced instruction and the promotion of a student-centered and value-driven teaching-learning environment.
It further envisions a community of responsible future leaders integrating faith and life in building a just and humane society where true peace, love, harmony and joy reign.
MISSION
The MIS recognizes its role in providing basic education that is equitably accessible, and in laying the foundation for holistic and lifelong learning, developing creative and rational thinking.
Its ultimate aim is to develop students who are functionally literate, socially and morally responsible and nationalistic yet receptive and contributory to positive global influences founded on responsive curricula, strength and competence of the teaching staff, and dedication and commitment of the administrators. In the end these students will become productive members of the greater society.
PHILOSOPHY
The ultimate measure of the effectiveness of an institution is its contribution to and impact on the educational, economic, social, cultural and religious well-being of the students it serves.
