Background
The Palm Crest International School (PCIS) was conceptualized by a Filipino couple and a Saudi National. In October 2002, investors were invited to realize the school.
The PCIS formally opened its door to expatriates’ children, on 3 April 2004 by virtue of a Saudi Ministry of Education License and Ministry of Commerce and Industry Certificate of Registration. After acquiring permits from the host country, the PCIS was given a provisional permit by the Philippine Department of Education in 2005.
The PCIS aims to be a center of excellence in pre-school, elementary and secondary education, a citadel of learning in Riyadh. It aims to provide a strong and well-rounded academic program for the total development of the students. The development of mental, physical and social skills, values, attitudes, character-building and faith in God are focused on through extra-curricular activities.
The PCIS also envisions, as part of its five-year development program, the opening of a tertiary program with initial courses in BS Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering and Graduate School programs in collaboration with accredited universities in the Philippines to cater to the professional needs of teachers in Saudi Arabia.
